Details of these studies are available on the project websCoverite

Gavin Deane, General Manager at Royal Cork,  who led the work on the Cool Route Marketing Strategy, says that an enormous amount of background work has been completed to allow partners to develop a  strategy, which can increase business opportunities for everyone throughout the route. Gavin highlighted the importance of local enterprises and communities engaging in the process.

The meeting will particularly address the Coastal Business Opportunities for local communities and enterprises, when it hosts a Stakeholders Workshop on Wednesday 26th April, commencing at  9.00 a.m. in the Carrigaline Court Hotel.

The event will outline project findings and strategies developed to date. The Economic Impact Study of the Leisure Marine Sector will also be introduced and this work is continuing within the Project Business Planning phase, led by project lead partner Cork Institute of Technology.

Dr. Breda Kenny, Head of the CIT Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence, and who is Manager of the Cool Route project, stresses the importance of engagements with local enterprises, as cruising sailing is currently attracting about 2% of its potential market and there are significant growth opportunities in the sector,  which can benefit local enterprises and communities, which are in proximity to the coast.
