The main objective of Cool Route is to provide new business opportunities for all coastal enterprises.
Many opportunities exist for new innovative products and services, targeted at small private craft , small liners and superyachts. All of these craft can use a local pontoon to bring passengers ashore.
New products and services supplied by local enterprises, may be anything from offering breakfasts in pubs, hotels or restaurants, to arranging sophisticated day-long activity packages for super-yacht guests; or indeed a local walk, tour or demonstration for passengers of small liners. A much needed new service in the areas of many pontoons is that of a recycling and refuse disposal facility – sailors are readily prepared to pay for this service, if provided by a bone fide operator.
Products, services and activities can now be catalogued in the Cool Route Information and Booking System, which is a knowledge base hosted on a Geographic Information System (GIS), providing information on all route stop-overs and linking those harbours to local enterprises. These may be in the direct Marine Sector, such as Boat Chandlers, Mechanical Services or Sail-Makers, or ancillary businesses such as restaurants, craft shops, tours and outdoor activities.
The deskop / laptop/ tablet platform also provides information on public transport and local events such as regattas and festivals.
Enterprises can self-register on the system by visiting www.sailcoolroute.eu/get-listed
All bookings on the system are automatically directed to the service provider’s own website – No fees or commission is involved.
The resource also provides an opportunity to post photos and memories of your visit to any point on the route. Please click here to access the Information and Booking System
